The Basics

I am based in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and I am available for computer questions, services and internet design (creating web sites) as my time permits. At this time, all of my computer service has come solely from personal references. I take pride in providing honest and professional service for reasonable prices.

Since full-time employment as a software engineer consumes my time during normal business hours, I cannot always perform computer services in an extremely short timeframe, but I work to provide services quickly and to give realistic estimates for the amount of time that service will require. With all my computer services, I aim to provide simple explanations of all work and the possible resolutions or implementations - giving you confidence that you are receiving the best service you can get.

Background

I first found interest in computers during grade school at around 10 years of age. My knowledge and expertise of computers have grown as my curiosity has led me. My formal education has included many computer-related classes in high school and a Bachelors Degree in Computers Science from the University of Illinois's College of Engineering in 2003.

Relating to computer service/repair - I find that many aspects of computers are overly-complicated and can be very confusing to a normal computer user. When something goes wrong with a computer, it is often impossible for a normal user to figure out how to repair or even diagnose a problem - but not by any fault of the user! Computer service and repair often requires many years of experience with computers along with a general math/science mentality. Thus, computer repair is often associated with the "geek" stereotype - and the stereotype fits well! While I proudly fit the category of "computer geek," I find it very satisfying to help others by using my expertise in computer service and repair and to provide reasonable prices and professional service in an industry where it is difficult to determine the best person to seek for help.

Relating to internet design - besides my "core" computer science courses which enable me to write the technical/functional parts of web sites, I have taken a wide variety of design-related courses. I have taken courses in the areas of drafting, computer-aided design (CAD), drawing, painting, computer graphic design and even computer-generated sound, and I enjoy drawing and painting in my free-time. The design philosophy I most prefer is a very simple, straightforward layout and navigation, as can be seen in this web site.
